Nutrition for Fertility Support
As your body goes through pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding, it is vital to nourish your body's preconception if possible.
“Reproductive freedom is not just the ability not to have a child through birth control. It’s the ability to have one if and when you want” - Pamela Madsen
Your body will use all the nutrients stored as a bank to create, nourish and build your baby; if your body before conception has not been receiving adequate nutrition, the feeling of depletion can begin to show up.
Here are some great fertility foods to begin incorporating;
~ liver and organ meat
~ cod liver oil
~ eggs
~ shellfish
~ whole fat dairy (minimally processed)
~ grass-fed and pasture-raised animal product
~ bone broth
~ fruits and vegetables
~ avocado or olive oil vs vegetable oil
If your partner is a man, he can also be preparing his body and sperm quality for pre-conception. Traditional cultures would prepare both partners for 6-12 months before preconception with a special diet that was nutrient-focused.
When incorporating the foods listed above, you're giving your body sources of Iron, Folate, Choline, B- Vitamins, Omega 3 Fatty Acid, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, and Iodine.
